Swedish massage focuses on general relaxation, stimulation of circulation and enhancing muscle tone. It also reduces muscle tightness. The Swedish technique uses five styles of long, flowing massage strokes: gliding, kneading, rhythmic tapping, cross-fibre and shaking.
Deep tissue massage aims to release the deeper layers of muscle tissue, focusing on trigger points, myofascial stretches, cross-fibre techniques and working the body deeply and intensely.
Ideal for all sports lovers, this version of deep tissue massage concentrates on particular areas of tension and tightness in the muscles. It can complement your training program by improving flexibility, aiding the removal of lactic acid from the muscles and preventing stiffness. It’s also beneficial before exercise as it warms up and stretches the muscles, thus helping to prevent injury.
This back massage consists of firm, gliding, circular and kneading strokes to release tension and stress in the back. It ends with gentle, circular palm and finger pressure on the head to stimulate the nerve endings in the scalp, and uses gentle, slow, long strokes to leave you invigorated.
Leg and foot massage is an incomparable pleasure, which not only relieves fatigue and leaves leg muscles and the body in tone, but is also a unique relaxing procedure.
Reflexology is an ancient method stimulating the pressure points on the feet to encourage balance and harmony. By applying specific massage techniques to congested pressure points in the feet, it creates an electrochemical reaction. This travels through the meridians/energy lines to the brain and back to the connecting organ. The process facilitates the body to heal itself.
This head massage relieves all kinds of mental and physical tension. It improves circulation and relaxes muscle and nerve fibres in the head, neck and shoulders and it also relieves eyestrain and elevates your mood. Note: This massage uses warm coconut oil, with nourishing extracts of castor and henna, giving strength to the hair.
A hot stone massage uses warmed, basalt stones to apply pressure and heat to the body. Hot stone massage is considered a kind of energy work, calming and energising the body, but with an extra element incorporated, to make it more than just a sensory delight. The massage techniques provide a deeply relaxing, healing, detoxifying and, some say spiritual, experience.
